established as the first area to be protected specifically for grizzly bear and their habitat
located at the end of Khutzeymateen Inlet off Portland Inlet, 45 km northeast of Prince Rupert
no road access
limited and controlled viewing with only 2 licensed guiding companies permitted access into the Khutzeymateen
fishing and hunting prohibited in the sanctuary
